National Doughnut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June to honour The Salvation Army ‘Lassies’ who served doughnuts to soldiers during First World War. Soon after the United States entered First World War in 1917, The Salvation Army set up canteens/social centers that served baked goods, writing supplies and clothes mending services for soldiers.

Our doughnut day was held on June 2, 2023  at the Church and Canadian Tire from 9am to 2pm and was a great success.
